Meanwhile, the Christian and Missionary Alliance says the persistent violence and tensions in Indonesia have taken a heavy toll on their work. Indonesian C&MA sources say most of their churches in the city of Ambon have been damaged or destroyed. C&MA officials add that independence movements are also rampant in various provinces, particularly Aceh and Irian Jaya. These parties are sparking additional conflict. Pray that peace will prevail and that these political struggles will not spill into open fighting in the streets.
