Headlining today news, Sri Lankan Prime Minister Sirimavo Bandaranaike (seera-MAH-vu BAHN dahrah-NYE-ah-kah) resigned yesterday ending 40 years in politics. She's been in poor health in recent months. 17-years of civil war continues to plague the nation where Trans World Radio beams Christian radio programs to India. Agency spokesman Rich Green say the political changes shouldn't affect them. "Trans World Radio has enjoyed an excellent relationship over the past 22 years with the Sri Lankan Broadcasting Corporation. We believe that this ministry has great days ahead." Greene says they just dedicated a new 400-thousand watt AM transmitter that is partly responsible for incredible growth among the church in India. "We are now receiving more than 75,000 letters a month. We broadcast there daily in more than 45 languages. And, we believe that Lord is in control of it. And, we do ask that people pray for the situation in Sri Lanka."
