USA (MNN) ― Thousands of Christmas cards will be sent to those who will be spending the holidays behind bars. It is often one of the most difficult times of the year for inmates.

Crossroad Bible Institute has developed a Send-A-Card program that is aimed at encouraging prisoners. They gather Christmas cards from the public and include them with the lessons that they send to those being discipled through their faith-based re-entry program.

There are students in the program in every U.S. state. The program has continued to grow over the last few years, and it is a great opportunity for Christians to send an encouraging message or Bible verse.

Cards for this year were to have been mailed to CBI by November 9th. Those wishing to contribute next year can plan ahead and follow special instructions listed on the CBI Web site. Click here for details.
