Central Asia (MNN) ― Trans World Radio is celebrating the completion of their Central Asia transmitter project.

This year, the Gospel has gone out in full force into this critical part of the world, bringing hope to a deeply divided region.

The team is producing HIV/AIDS and drug/alcohol addiction broadcasts, dramatized Scripture and chronological Bible story programs, and women's programs for the region. Please pray that the hope of Jesus Christ penetrates deeply and that hearts will respond.

TWR airs broadcasts over two State channels, Mayak and Yunost, providing airtime on 720 FM and local AM transmitters. TWR also airs Ukrainian-produced programs via 217 local FM and AM transmitters in Ukraine.

Programs can be heard in Avar, Belarusian, Chechen, Dargwa, English, Karakalpak, Kazakh, Kumyk, Kyrgyz, Lak, Lezgi, Russian, Central Asian Russian (CAR), Tajik, Turkmen, Uighur , Ukrainian, and Uzbek.

In addition to broadened evangelistic capabilities, TWR, in partnership with several Christian agencies and ministries, launched MemCare by Radio, a 15-minute, daily English-language broadcast.  The programming is aimed at Christians living and working in sensitive, restricted areas of Central Asia and the Northern Caucasus region. It's also aired from the 1-million-watt AM transmitter in Central Asia.
