Story number 2 for 24 Aug 2000

Posted: 24 August, 2000

We turn next to Taiwan where Typhoon Bilis rocked one of Operation Mobilization's ships. The world's oldest ocean-going passenger ship, MV Doulos, celebrated her 86th birthday by surviving the typhoon, which struck Taiwan just yesterday. The typhoon took the lives of more than 11. However the 300 international crew members of the Doulos were protected from injury, and the ship sustained no damage. The storm, however, has delayed the Doulos' birthday festival until August 29th.
