Broadcast producers on the Arabic production team

Middle East (MNN) ― Foreign leaders from Russia, European Union, the United Nations and the United States are meeting April 17th in Jordan to lay the groundwork for upcoming Middle East peace talks. In the meantime, violence has been spreading in the region.

Words of Hope's Lee DeYoung says they're bringing a different message through their radio broadcasts. "They're scheduled immediately after that station's popular newscast, 'Panorama.' The depressing news of conflict, tragedy and strife of the world give way to the transforming good news of Jesus Christ's saving love."

DeYoung says because of the response to the message they're bringing, they just expanded the broadcast. "Along with the doubling of the airtime, the production teams of young Christian professionals in Egypt and Lebanon have revamped a creative, fast-paced mix of program segments that attract and hold listeners' interest over Radio Monte Carlo through Trans World Radio."

Arabic outreach has been a top priority for Words of Hope for more than three decades. The broadcasts' primary intended audience is the large Muslim majority throughout the 22 nations of the Arab League.

The programs creatively address common Islamic objections to Christianity.

Production coordinator "Nada" notes: "We've divided each day's program into multiple sections to maintain a high level of listener interest. We include listeners' questions and comments about various issues, expert information from a scientific point of view, and, of course, the Bible's teaching on these topics."

Thousands of listeners are responding via e-mail and SMS text messages. Countries yielding the most Muslim responses include Iraq, Saudi Arabia, and Yemen.
