Singapore (MNN) ― According to Voice of the Martyrs USA, a couple in Singapore was charged on two accounts for their evangelistic work distributing Christian literature. The piece, "The Little Bride," supposedly cast the Muslim prophet Mohammad in a negative light. 

Under the Sedition act, the couple was charged for "promoting feelings of ill will and hostility between different races or classes of the population of Singapore." The second charge falls under the Undesirable Publications Act which protects against materials that may depict "race or religion in such a manner that the availability of the publication is likely to cause feelings of enmity, hatred, ill will or hostility between different racial or religious groups."

Ong Kian Cheong and Dorothy Chan Hien Leng need prayers that they will be released from the charges. Pray that this would not deter them from future evangelistic efforts and that God will help them to forgive their persecutors. Pray for continued openings for Christians to share their faith in Singapore. 

Singapore's population is majority Buddhist with only 15 percent claiming to be Christians.
