Dominican Republic (MNN) ― School sponsorship makes a huge difference in the lives of children in the Dominican Republic.

For one Dominican family, the loss of a job meant they could not afford to send their two girls to a Christ-centered school. Students Betty, Belkis and Kelvin live in the Dominican Republic with their parents. When their father lost his government job due to the election of a new president, the question then became whether or not the family could still afford tuition.

Through the Sponsor a School program with Worldwide Christian Schools, the Ramon Reynoso Christian School stepped in to help. The school helps cover operational costs and offers tuition assistance to families in need. The family attends the school's local church, where the children's mother recently accepted Christ.

The WWCS Sponsor a School program is simple: get children into schools. For $25 a month ($300 a year), WWCS helps a child gain access to quality, Christ-centered schooling.

Sponsorship dollars cover a school's basic necessities, including: teacher salaries, water and electricity bills, building maintenance, text books, desks, student uniforms and school lunches.  By covering these costs, tuition is made affordable to all children in the community who wish to attend school.

God has used Ramon Reynoso Christian School to reach this Dominican family -- a direct result of WWCS School Sponsors who are willing to come alongside Christian schools around the world to impact entire communities with God's love.
