Meanwhile, Evangelist Sammy Tippit is asking people to pray for his upcoming trip to the Democratic Republic of Congo. Civil war is raging there as Rwandan and Ugandan armies trade mortar and machine-gun fire without apparent military objective, making a mockery of the latest U.N.-brokered cease-fire agreement. Despite the war, is heading there June 18th to share the Gospel. People are being asked to pray for safety and that the special meetings will go smoothly.
