Yemen (MNN) ― In Yemen, the response to a recently-aired program is an encouraging sign. With a population of 23 million Muslims, there are no churches where believers can assemble for fellowship and teaching.
Far East Broadcasting Company launched the Church in the House program in December 2008 and since has seen a large increase in the number of believers in the country. Because of that increase, Feba, a sister organization of FEBC, launched 36 more programs last November. The programs help teach a Biblical outline for church.
FEBC's hope is that the Church in the House broadcasts will encourage believers to form their own house churches and give them information so they are confident enough to do so. Yemeni believers are praying that more believers and non-believers will hear the broadcast.
It's been just five years since Feba started launching programs in the Yemeni dialect. This brought an increased interest in the programs as people heard about Christ in their own dialect. The program began as a one-hour broadcast each night and has since expanded to two hours.
