USA (MNN) ― Hundreds of Native American and First Nation youth are gathered this week in Missouri for the annual On Eagles' Wings Warrior Leadership Summit.
The Summit will equip these young people to make a difference for Jesus Christ. What makes this significant?
According to Ron Hutchcraft Ministries, after 500 years of mission work among Native Americans, only five percent have become Christians. Adult Native Americans rarely come to Christ, and the youth respond to the Gospel even more rarely.
Native American and First Nations youth will be part of large group praise and teaching sessions called Warrior Circles; go to Battle Councils, which inform them of issues related to their background; build relationships in a Christian environment, participate in daily recreation; have access to trained counselors and hear from older Native Christians.
It wraps up on Thursday but serves as the launch for On Eagles' Wings and Ron Hutchcraft summer ministry teams.
This outreach ministry is called "Seasons of Hope" and has been used by God to bring healing and hope to many people.
God has blessed RHM with a $100,000 Matching Gift to reach Native American young people this summer. That means a gift to make the Summer of Hope 2009 possible will be matched dollar for dollar: a gift of $50 becomes $100, and $100 gift becomes $200. Only gifts received by August 1 will count toward the match.
Most importantly, the funds help some of this continent's
