India (MNN) ― Worldwide Christian Schools says roughly a dollar a day can change a life for the better in India.

Globally, 72 million school-aged children do not have access to education. Lack of education is often a sentence to a life of hardship and poverty.

WWCS launched Student Hope in India and hopes to include other countries around the globe in the soon.

What difference does $32 make? For 11-year old Biswajiti Bidika, it's the difference between life and death. Biswajiti is a student of New Life Academy in northern India.

Her father, a day laborer, is unable to care for her and placed her in the care of New Life Orphanage. There she receives good meals, loving attention, and the ability to attend New Life Academy.  A student in the 4th grade, she learns of her potential and expresses a desire to become a nurse.

She is awaiting a Student Hope sponsor so she can continue her education. A sponsorship makes it possible for more children to receive a quality, Christ-centered education in areas where typically no other educational options exist. It covers tuition, including school operational costs, textbooks, uniforms, and school lunch.
