USA (MNN) ― The reins of leadership are changing hands at Food for the Hungry as Benjamin Homan steps down as president to begin serving in a new role as president of John Stott Ministries (JSM).

Since 2001, Homan led Food for the Hungry, "championing the ministry's vision of meeting the physical and spiritual needs of the world's poorest and most vulnerable people," according to FH's press release. FH believes Homan will continue to serve with the same passion in his role with JSM. Homan served as vice president at Covenant Theological Seminary before coming to FH.

In the U.S., David Evans will be replacing Homan, taking on the title of Global Executive Officer, International Programs. Evans is joined by two others, making up the Global Executive Office: Luis Noda, based in Latin America, is Global Executive for Field Operations; and Peter Mawditt, from the U.K., is Global Executive for Strategic Services These officers oversee the 26 countries in which FH is involved, and Evans oversees the "development of resources, programs and partnerships in support of Food for the Hungry's international field activities," their press release said.

Prior to this position, Evans managed FH's government funded initiatives.

Evans said in the press release, "I am honored to have the opportunity to serve with Food for the Hungry in this new capacity. It's a very challenging role, and I am thankful for the exemplary leadership that Ben modeled for all our staff and volunteers around the world. We wish him the best in his new position as president of John Stott Ministries."

Homan feels confident the current leaders of FH will continue to do an excellent job of advancing their mission and vision. To learn more about this mission and the work of Food for the Hungry around the world, visit fh.org.

Pray that God will grant Evans and his team wisdom during this time of transition.
