Chad (MNN) ― Medical facilities in Chad are generally very limited. Medicines are often in short supply or unavailable.

Africa Inland Mission collaborated with the Evangelical Church of Chad to address the physical and spiritual needs. Dr. Ann Fursdon of AIM coordinates and supervises the work of 37 Health Centers under the partnership. Recently, the government provided funds to purchase a vehicle and other necessary equipment for the hospital.

Fursdon is hoping to focus more on teaching for the hospital and health centers, including discipleship and high quality care provision. The team is also working on a project to help the hospital in its HIV work, but it's in the early stages.

Fursdon was a General Practitioner in Long Buckby, England before leaving for Kenya in 1988. In 2004, she moved to Chad to facilitate the growth of the medical arm of missions for AIM.

Pray for the administrators of the clinics to find ways to make the ministry more sustainable. Ask God to give the staff stamina and endurance with their heavy workload. Pray for open doors for the Gospel.
