Next, a powerful earthquake rocked Indonesia on Sunday, threatening the lives of mission workers and those they care for. The quake measured 7.9 on the Richter scale and knocked out power and phone lines from Jakarta to the Bengkulu Province where World Vision has a project assisting several hundred sponsored children. The organization plans to send food, clean water, and other emergency assistance to the thousands left homeless of injured from the quake.
