South Africa (MNN) ― The first Teen Missions Boot Camp in South Africa was run in 1984, and has run every year since, with the exception of 1993 and 1994 due to political unrest.
In 1997, Teen Missions acquired 12.5 acres of land near Pretoria about an hour and a half from Johannesburg. The annual Boot Camp runs in December/January, during their summer.
According to the latest report from their team leaders, many of the Teen Mission teams have been catching the vision for evangelism in South Africa. This has been the best year for training team members as all of the leaders have been keeping up with their classes and memory work, and the teams have been busy.
The construction team has finished most of the back house and has finished roofing the car port. The Clown team spent their Christmas in a hospice showing love to those who are at the last leg of their lives. It was an eye opener for all of the team members and leaders as they said, "Our lives will never be the same."
The Holiday Club team was able to share about their project and Teen Missions on a local radio station as they are teaching children about God's love. The Choir team has been focusing on revivals and door to door evangelism. And, God has been moving in the Sports team as they have seen over 35 people come to know the Lord in the first few days of the field. Pray for those involved in this outreach.
Boot camp in South Africa helps teens catch the missions' vision.
