Russian children touring US to promote adoption

Posted: 14 June, 2004

USA (MNN) ― 17 Russian children are in the United States this week to bring adoption to the attention of Christians. Buckner Orphan Care International is sponsoring the tour. Buckner's Amy Norton says, "They're from two orphanages (in St. Petersburg) and they are singing at several different churches."
The goal is to help people understand the needs at orphanages and to consider adopting children and bring them into their families.
According to reports, there are more than 800-thousand orphans in Russia. Buckner is accredited in Russia and they're looking for adoptive families to address this need. Norton says as Christians adopt these children, not only are they providing a needed home and a family, but are able to live out the Gospel in their lives. The ultimate prayer is seeing these children come to Christ.
You can get more information about adopting these or other special children by going to their web site, http://www.HelpOrphans.org or call them toll free 877-767-7426 .
