Story number 3 for 16 Jun 2000

Open Doors is reporting an appeal is being filed before the Egyptian High Court, over a verdict in a criminal case involving a Coptic Christian. Earlier this month, the Criminal Court ruled a Coptic Christian villager was guilty of the double murder of his cousin and another young Copt in southern Egypt's El-Kosheh village. However, Coptic activists call the judgment highly political and believe there was fabricated evidence and witness tampering. Please pray for safety for Christians in this area.
