Russia (MNN) ― Teaching, Construction and backpacks. Those were the things a church in the United States used to help a Russian Ministries supported church in Salekhard, Russia in northern Siberia a few weeks ago.
Five members of the First Baptist Church of Manlius, Illinois traveled to assist in two areas, says Pastor Don Winters. "I was to teach a conference through the church without walls program. We worked on the church building that they're working on Salekhard, and we also delivered backpacks to the Ninit children."
It was all done in Christ's name. Russian Ministries is using their church without wall program to help train young believers about ministry and encouraging them to get involved in their local church. Winters says Russian Ministries is having an impact. "They're training new leaders (and) starting up churches. We met in a house church in a small village that has just recently been started up. Some of the people that we baptized are new believers and they're going back into their village where there is no church and they are new leadership in that area."
Pray that God uses this program and others to draw many into full time service, which is desperately needed in Russia.
