Story number 1 for 23 Jun 2000

Posted: 23 June, 2000

We begin today in India where violence against Christians continues to increase. Vandalism, death threats and other forms of violence plague believers there. However, Trans World Radio's Richard Greene says God has protected their staff, and the work is growing. "Trans World Radio broadcasts to India in more than 45 languages, has nearly 200 staff members. The indigenous church planting arm of Trans World Radio India, Vishwa Vani, has over 850 field workers, planting over one church a week." Greene says as persecution increases, so does spiritual fruit. "People are seeing how Christians are staying firm in their faith and are affected by that. They see that their faith is real and begin to investigate we are Christians behaving this way"...which opens doors for evangelism.
