Congo-Kinshasa (MNN) ― Every Child Ministries is trying to change the deplorable conditions for the orphans in Kikwit, Democratic Republic of Congo.
The project launched several years ago, when Pastor Mayele lived in Kikwit. His heart was touched by the deplorable condition of so many of Kikwit's orphans, so he launched his own feeding program.
Pastor Mayele had to move into Kinshasa for ECM purposes, but couldn't leave the orphans without some support. He says they're looking for sponsors who can give 28-dollars a month to provide both food and an education to these kids.
Pastor Meya, who followed Pastor Mayele in Kikwit, carries overall responsibility for the program. It is run in two needy sections of Kikwit and tied to local churches.
The children are receiving spiritual training, too. Many of the children have come to Christ and some of them are now being prepared for baptism.
