Sewing machines bring joy and hope in refugee camps.

Posted: 23 November, 2006

Sudan (MNN) ― There's good news coming out of Sudan. Women from several churches in the largest South Sudanese refugee camp in North Uganda have a fellowship called The Women of the Good News.
A few years ago, The Bridge International raised funds to purchase 12 sewing machines to help the women establish micro-businesses. The sewing machines were distributed and used throughout the refugee camps.
Those machines have served many of the women well, and some of the machines have even gone back into Sudan with people as make their way in resettlement.
The women's lives radiate joy and thankfulness in God's provision. Pray that God will continue to use these sewing machines to provide for the needs of His people and many others.
