While Book of Hope attempts to reclaim India for Christ, Satan keeps a tight grip on the country. Violence and "spiritual darkness" have been a part of India for thousands of years.
Just nine years ago, India was at least considered a peaceful nation. Today, anti-conversion laws in seven states highlight the extreme anti-Christian sentiment which is resulting in severe persecution. Recently, Christians have been beaten, arrested, and killed because of their faith in Christ. Pastors are being held in jail without bond even though they are part of legal, registered churches.
This is why prayer is so critical to this mission. Book of Hope is asking that you pray between the hours of 5 a.m. and 7 a.m. Easter morning, aligning with the primetime showings of the film in India, which is 10-½ hours ahead of U.S. Central time.
Pray that God will provide a large audience, as well as understanding for that audience. Pray that many families would come to know Christ through this. Pray also for those distributing the Book of Hope to children across the country--hopefully 2 million will be reached over Easter, and 6 million throughout the rest of the year.
