AMG International is celebrating 65 years of ministry this year. With international growth in 55 countries, AMG's Paul Jenks says they're focusing their evangelistic vision on the Muslim world.
"Right now we're investigating opportunities to do newspaper evangelism. We hope also to expand our childcare ministry. We currently have sponsorships through strategic partnerships. St. Luke's Hospital is in the process of being expanded, more than doubling the floor space of that hospital."
A Gospel ad placed in secular newspapers and magazines is a method that AMG has used for more than 50 years to spread the truths of the Bible. It is effective because it enters homes of Hindus, Muslims, Buddhists, and others who might never have an opportunity to talk to a Christian and might even avoid any Christian that crossed their paths.
Children under the care of AMG receive a hot, nutritious meal and a snack each day. The health condition of each child is monitored carefully, and vitamins are given to provide additional nutrients. The kids also have access to education and tutoring.
Child-care center staff encourage children to take advantage of every opportunity they have to learn new skills. Kids are given new clothes and shoes periodically, but more importantly, they are given a clear presentation of the Gospel with the hope that each child will become a Christian and reach his or her world for Christ.
St. Luke's Hospital in Thessalonica, Greece, has earned the reputation of being one of the best hospitals in Eastern Europe and in the Balkan region. That reputation has brought about an urgent need for expansion. The team treats the patient as a whole person – providing medical care for the body and ministering the Good News for the soul’s wellbeing.
Fast ministry growth can be heady and distracting at times, but Jenks says that AMG works to meet people at the point of their need. "We will continue to stay focused on the Word of God. AMG is a mission that does outreach. We want the continued focus to be that God's Word will be proclaimed in all that we do and that we will see fruit for His kingdom."
