Compassion International

Compassion International exists for one simple reason: to break the cycle of poverty for children everywhere. This vision stems from Rev. Everett Swanson who, in the early 1950s, developed a system for caring people to sponsor Korean children for just a few dollars a month. This provided Korean children with:
* Food, shelter and clothing, as needed * Education and healthcare * Christian training and personal attention
That work has continued, and grown, for over 50 years. Today, we're helping over 500,000 children in over 20 countries.
