Brazil (MNN)–A growing number of Brazilians know much about religion, but not about what it means to have a personal relationship with Jesus.

Statistics show that 140 million Brazilians have never received Jesus as their Savior. In response, Leandro Tarrataca, director of Verdade Biblica, Back To The Bible’s Brazil work, decided to tackle the situation, armed with truth.

He teamed up with another ministry for a youth outreach. The team then held evangelistic meetings with adolescents and teenagers in seven public schools.

Although there were gang fights and other challenges, the end result was that more than 300 kids came to Christ.

Now, the Portuguese translation of I Want to Go to Heaven When I Die, a follow-up booklet, will now be sent to those who responded. Local churches will also be involved in discipleship.

BTTB will continue to play a key role in the work there. Their ministry based in Sao Paulo, reaches all 26 Brazilian states with Bible teaching created specifically for Brazilians by Brazilians.

The national staff supports pastors and churches through publishing basic Bible study and discipleship materials.
