An orphan ministry needs help in meeting needs in Russia.

Russia (MNN)–An orphanage can often be a lonely place, in spite of the fact that there are hundreds of other children sharing the same space.

In Russia, worsening economic conditions after Communism fell saw an increase in children seeking refuge in the facilities.

One agency, Buckner Orphan Care, stepped in to help nearly a decade ago. In the time since then, teams have made great strides in humanitarian aid, and through special fostering programs.

However, that ministry has not happened without struggle. Buckner says their Russia ministries need help. Teams are looking to raise money to fund desperately needed repairs for several orphanages. Some have no heat, no hot water and urgently need help.

The ministry also reports an immediate need for funds to purchase and distribute emergency items such as medicine, school supplies, medical equipment and care, beds, clothes and computers.

Many orphan children in Russia have seen the love of Jesus first-hand through Buckner Orphan Care International. Pray that needs are met.
