Boot Camp begins in South Africa for missions’ minded teens.

South Africa (MNN)–Teen Missions’ Boot Camp is off to a great start.
Though leaders were expecting many more team members then actually came, the ones who arrived have been a blessing.

Most of the kids were sent by churches, instead of being sent by children’s homes as it as been in the past (only 35 of the kids are from children’s homes, as opposed to the 70 last year). TMI teams have been getting kids from the SOS children’s home in Mamelodi for many years, and this year the SOS children’s home in Petermariesburg also sent kids.

It is interesting to see the difference between the kids from the two different homes. The kids from Petermariesburg are rougher around the edges, but for the last couple of years, the only problem from Mamelodi is a bit of rebelliion.

It just goes to show how much of an impact Teen Missions has had in the lives of these kids, even though Boot Camp is only for one month out of the year.

Each participant in an Overseas Boot Camp (OBC) learns construction, evangelism, Bible, team work, and discipline. As they do community service projects such as building outhouses, weeding gardens, and renovating schools they are winning the right to be heard and then can share the message of the Gospel. Hundreds of lives have been changed.
