IBS President to retire.

By March 27, 2006

USA (MNN)–International Bible Society President, Peter Bradley, is retiring.

Under Bradley, IBS cast a vision to reach two billion people with the Bible by 2008. They’ve accelerated evangelistic Scripture ministry on various media outlets and through ministry partnerships.

IBS has also embarked on an aggressive goal to translate the Bible into more than 50 languages worldwide in the next five years to give people access to contemporary translations.

With Bradley at the helm, IBS was active in critical outreach efforts, including responses to the 9/11 terror attacks, the war in Iraq, Hurricane Katrina, and the tsunami disaster in South Asia.

Pray for IBS as they seek a successor. Chairman Mike Richards said that the IBS Board of Directors has formed a search committee to find a new president.

Bradley, who recently turned 65, announced his retirement plans at the February 24 IBS Board of Directors meeting. He will remain in his post until a successor has been named.
