Kids’ walk supports children with disabilities

By March 25, 2010

Kenya (MNN) — An organized walk recently raised 88,000 dollars for the CURE Kenya hospital.

400 people joined the CURE Internaitional "Walk of Love" along Kenya's Ngong Road Forest to celebrate and support children with disabilities. Participants ranged from the Nigerian and Ugandan high commissioners to young students.

Sam Baguma, CURE's regional director of development for Africa, said the walk was inspired by the love children from an international school in Kenya had for one Sudanese boy in a wheelchair. He said it was intended to be a kids for kids walk.

The money raised from the event will support the CURE hospital where disabled children are given new life through surgery, as well as the hope of the Gospel. Pray that the funds raised would allow many more children to have disabilities corrected. Pray that as children come through the hospital, they would understand and accept Christ as their true healer.
