Low U-S dollar, hurting missions abroad

By December 17, 2004

USA (MNN) — With the U-S Dollar at an all time low, missionaries are struggling financially.

According to the Bridge International, the value of the dollar is down 36-percent. Much of the financial support for their missionaries overseas comes from the United States. With the value of the dollar down 36-percent against the Euro and other currencies, means fewer dollars for support. For every $100 that’s donated, it’s actually only worth just $64, meaning a third less to live on and minister with.

The answer to this problem is increasing the giving amounts and more overseas donations. Pray that God will move in the hearts of His people to give a little extra this holiday season so even more people can come to Christ.
