Medical clinic used to change lives physically and spiritually

Ghana (MNN) — Health care is a tremendous need around the world. In many areas of the world people have to walk for days to get to a hospital, if it’s available at all. In countries like Ghana, West Africa, providing even limited medical care can be the key to seeing a person come to Christ.

That’s why Oasis International Ministries is investing in health care in the village of Prampram. Elvina Miller is with Oasis and says while there is a hospital, it’s miles away. “By the time they would get a car and drive someone to the hospital they would die on the way.”

Oasis is committed to building a new clinic to help take care of urgent needs and allow people to stay overnight. However, Miller says they have a lot of work ahead of them. “They’ve put up a building and there’s nothing in the building yet. All they have is the frame work. And, it will be a large clinic where they’ll have women’s dorms and men’s dorms. But, we are doing everything we can to help the clinic.”

The clinic is only a part of the work that they’re doing. Oasis is also providing specialized training in Bible foundations, hygiene, computer, finance, management, leadership, organization and maintenance. They need your financial help.

Pastor Samuel Narh says the work is having an impact as many people are turning to Christ. “People now have new life, truly. Prampram wasn’t like this before. Now there is vast change in the people.”

Because of this, Miller says churches are growing. Contact Oasis International Ministries if you’d like to help financially.
