OM camp encourages creative ministry to the people of Turkey

Turkey (MNN) — Nearly 100 Turkish worship leaders and creative artists gathered in Turkey recently for  training, equipping, worship, and outreach.

TACO (Turkey/Afri-Asia Creative Outreach) is the resident creative arts ministry of Operation Mobilization. Their recent 4-day camp in Turkey offered Bible teaching and training by Turkish pastors and worship leaders, along with seminars focusing on worship leading and using local art in worship.

OM's "Kanat" (Wings) camps provides worship, music and
arts training to the Turkish church, providing Turkish believers a creative way to minister to their people.

Music and visual arts have a universal language which TACO "speaks" to creatively proclaim the Gospel to Muslims.

Evenings at Kanat Kamps consist of games, concerts, outreach, and a celebration of praise, where the students showcased their new skills.

At the recent camp, students from southeast Turkey sang a song that had been written by a believer who was martyred there five years ago.

This was the first Kanat Kamp to offer an outreach option after the camp ended. 35 local believers went to Izmir to proclaim Jesus in song, dance, and theatre. They offered New Testaments to people and also engaged in conversation.

Pray that these Turkish worship leaders and artists will continue to grow in their knowledge of God and develop their gifts for His glory.

Praise God for what He is doing in the Turkish church.
