(Israel)–Next, it’s being called an anti-missionary act, not anti-Christian. The International Christian Embassy Jerusalem reports that an Orthodox Jewish teacher in Beit Shemesh publicly burned a New Testament after he discovered his sixth grade student had received it from evangelical missionaries. The teacher has been suspended pending disciplinary action by the ministry of education. Israeli law makes it a criminal offense to proselytize minors. Jewish leaders say minors have recently been targets of such efforts.
