(USA)–Meanwhile, the terror attacks in New York and Washington are having a profound impact on the prison population of the United States. That’s the word from Crossroad Bible Institute’s David Schuringa. “We’ve been seeing a tremendous outbreak of the spirit in the prisons, but my guess it’s going to be even more so because this attack on our country is certainly bringing people to their knees where they need to be. Even behind bars. Everybody’s aware of this.” “Operation Starting Line”, an effort to share the Gospel in every prison in the U-S, is a partnership that includes Prison Fellowship and Crossroad. Schuringa says they’re providing correspondence classes to those who come to Christ. “We’ve been working with Prison Fellowship for a number of years (and) they’ve been referring students to us to disciple. We’re seeing a tremendous revival in the prisons. And, I suspect even more so in future campaigns after the September 11 event.” Currently, nearly 10-thousand inmates are enrolled in their program.
