(USA)–As violence around the world is a concern to those heading to the mission field, should it be the determining factor on whether or not they go? That question will be addressed at a special missions conference scheduled for May 20th and 21st. Evangelical Baptist Missions will be hosting the conference in Indianapolis, Indiana. EBM’s Paul Jackson says ‘Risk and the Cause of Christ’ will be the focus. “I think one of the questions I’m asked as much as any other question, is it really safe for me to go. I can understand the concern, but in a very real sense you have to wonder what that really has to do with following Jesus Christ.” Doctor John Piper of the Bethlehem Baptist Church in Minnesota will be addressing those concerns. “We’ve asked him to come and really challenge churches, pastors, leaders in the church, missionary committee members, anyone in the church who really has a heart for missions to come – to challenge them with regard to what it means to be really committed to Christ in this day and age.”
