(Philippines)–We turn next to the Philippines where two missionaries with New Tribes Mission continue to be held hostage by the Islamic group Abu Sayyaf. However, the Associated Press reports government troops have captured three Abu Sayyaf guerrillas, who have links to wanted terrorist Osama bin Laden. This group has been holding Martin and Gracia Burnham hostage since May. A break in the weather has allowed the military to step up its pursuit of the group.
