Story number 4 for 19 Dec 2000

Meanwhile, great strides are being made in training Christian leaders in Far East Russia. Missionary with Send International Rex Durram is teaching at Far East Russia Bible College. He says they’ve seen 80 students graduate and they now have over 100 students. He says the school has had an impact on church growth. “We have graduates who have become pastors and who are working among the leadership of the pastors in Far East. We have others who have become missionaries. Some of the ladies who have graduated are working in Sunday Schools and women’s ministries. We have a couple of graduates working in Christian radio.” However, the school is facing financial difficulty. Durram says they’re hoping people can help. “Send has instituted a scholarship program where individuals can support a student for $180 a month. So, we’re working at creative ways to try to meet that need so that we don’t have to make cuts in the college.”
