Toy drive to bring smiles to India’s neediest children

By December 11, 2007

India (MNN) — India Partners is working hard to
bring smiles to the neediest children of India.
The SMILES Campaign is a great way for children to make a difference in
the lives of other children.

Brent Hample explains the launch of a toy drive that's
the heart of this year's "Smiles Campaign."
"We are asking people to send us a small plush toy, about the size
of an adult fist, and a gift of five dollars to help us get that toy to India
into the hands of a child, many of whom have never had a toy in their entire
life."

The ministry is taking toys from now through
mid-January. He says they're encouraging
parents to pick out plush toys with their children and send the toys to India
Partners.

It's a simple way to get kids involved in making a
difference for the kingdom. Children
will be blessed knowing they have helped bring a smile to the face of another
child this Christmas.

Hample says they believe toys help develop
creativity and imagination. India
Partners works with Christian groups to maximize the hope that develops. "The children who are receiving a toy,
if they're in a school or an orphanage, are learning about Jesus, and they
are learning the Gospel. If they are a
street child, then at the time that they are given the toy, the agency will
give them a small food packet and will teach them about Jesus."

India Partners will forward the
toys to poor children in India. To make a donation of toys and $5.00 or more, please mail them in time to arrive no later
than January 21, 2008. Click here for
details.
