USA ministry expanding outreach

By August 10, 2004

USA (MNN) — Thousands of people in the United States are hungry and hopeless. These people need food, clothing, basic medical supplies and spiritual assistance. Here’s Life Inner City , a ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ, is helping through their ‘warehouse ministry.’

Every month Here’s Life helps 450,000 people to experience Christ’s love through their warehouse and food distribution program. A recent study found that 2,000 people are coming to Christ every month.

The good news is that Here’s Life now has an opportunity to do even more in Chicago, Atlanta and Minneapolis. Warehouse space has been donated in each of these cities, but there’s only one thing preventing them from beginning work here. They need funding.

They need more than $245,000 by August 31st to pay staff and purchase equipment to open these new ministry warehouses. Here’s Life has already turned down offers of donated food, because of the lack of capacity. They also lack the national network and space to distribute the supplies.

Here’s Life is asking people to donate. Gifts of any amount can help the most desperate people in the United States hear the Gospel, in many cases for the first time. If you’d like to help, go to their web site, http://www.hlic.org or call them at (212) 494-0321.
