Wycliffe joins the online game craze with ‘In Other Words’

By May 18, 2012

International (MNN) — Whether you've joined in online game crazes like Farmville and Draw Something or not, Wycliffe Bible Translators has one Gospel-focused game you won't want to miss out on.

Wycliffe's new In Other Words Bible quiz game is an interactive, online game designed as an opportunity to share exciting advancements in Bible translation, to engage in friendly competition with friends and family, and even to win prizes.

In Other Words was released Monday and will only run for the next three weeks. Every day of its four-week run, a new Bible knowledge or Bible translation trivia question will be posted for participants to answer. By correctly answering questions and recruiting others to join in the game, players can earn points and compete for weekly prizes.

The prize chest contains gifts from donors including iPads, iPod Touches, Kindles, and a grand prize at the conclusion of the game: a trip for four to Orlando, Florida to visit the Wycliffe Discovery Center and enjoy a selection of Orlando's finest tourist attractions.

But beyond just providing Wycliffe supporters the opportunity to have fun and win cool things, the purpose of In Other Words is to engage more people in the ministry of Bible translation. Participation in the game will help communicate the mission of Wycliffe and accelerate the pace of Bible translation.

When you sign up to play, you're joining Wycliffe and its partners as they seek to make God's Word available to every person in their heart language, so that they can know the truth found in Scripture, freedom from the bondage of sin, and changed lives as a result of knowing Jesus Christ.

Wycliffe president Bob Creson says, "The Bible is the foundation for all Christian ministry. It's God's love story written to everyone for whom Christ died. But the love story can only be heard if it's in the language and form that a person best understands. I cannot think of any ministry more important than giving people access to God's Word."

Play In Other Words to learn more about how people are spiritually transformed and empowered by access to Scripture in their own language. Plus, be encouraged from God's Word and educated about the Bible translation process as you play.
