Youth pastor encouraged by fresh approach to evangelism in Russia.

Russia (MNN)–A local youth Pastor in Shebekino, a small town in Central Russia, recently saw a Book of Hope International team at work.

Pastor Alex says he had been frustrated by the lack of response the youth had to the Gospel, until he saw the non-traditional approach used by the teams.

Although he had tried similar approaches, something was missing. After watching the Book of Hope team, he says, “I realize now what my problem was; I did not establish a good two-way communication with the audience. It’s very important to gain their trust from the very beginning and this is something the team does very well.”

In short, their skits, resources and games reached the kids’ hearts and planted seeds for a relationship. Alex now plans to implement the new techniques and has extended an open-ended invitation to the team to return and minister with him.
