$2 million raised for Compassion’s tsunami relief

By February 9, 2005

Asia (MNN) — Compassion International is saying ‘thank you’ to thousands who gave from their hearts in the aftermath of the tsunami disaster that struck 11 countries. Thanks to your generous gifts to Compassion’s Tsunami Disaster Relief Fund, more than $2 million (USD) has been donated worldwide.

Compassion’s international partner countries are completing their fundraising efforts and a global relief effort total will be available soon. The money will be used to help the victims physically through the local church. The prayer is to be a testimony and share Christ when spiritual questions arise. Your support has allowed Compassion to help thousands of tsunami victims in India, Indonesia and Sri Lanka receive clean water, food, medical attention, basic necessities and much more.

Pray for Compassion International and other organizations sharing the Gospel. Because the tsunami gained much of the world’s attention, many other areas of work went largely ignored. Consider supporting Compassion’s other works around the world so those children can hear the message of Christ.
