This is fantastic. Thank God for this outreach! If it weren’t for translators bringing the Word to each culture over the generations, then where would we all be? God bless this mission even more!

Hi Ellery, I think I can understand your concern about God’s Word being seemingly “altered”, but I want to assure you that this is not the case. I asked Mark Finnie that very question (if anything was being taken away/added to Scripture) in this Commonwealth New Testament & he assured me it wasn’t. Biblica/Scottish Bible Society are simply putting God’s Word in a wrapper that appeals to the unreached, so to say. The Queen’s foreword helps to provide a “common ground” for European sports fans that might encourage them to actually read the New Testament.

By the way, did you know that the KJV is called that because King James wrote a foreword (similar to Queen Elizabeth II’s) some 400 years ago?

The NIV Commonwealth New Testament will be mans word not Gods Word (K.J.V.)
We thought it would be brilliant if we could provide a gospel that was contemporary, that fit in with their culture.
How about being faithful to God instead of culture!!
