A ministry in Ghana cross trains into 2006.

Ghana (MNN)–Every Child Ministries is now offering three days of intensive cross-cultural missionary training for those preparing to train nationals in children’s ministries and youth ministries.

ECM’s Lorella Rouster. “We’ve been very successful in training Africans to reach their own people, so we’d like to use that training to help Americans get ready to go, and to be equipped to take their knowledge here and use it in another culture.”

Rouster designed the program for Christians who already have significant ministry training and experience. It’s held several times a year, normally in February, April, August, and November at ECM’s International “Mission Central” base in northwest Indiana. Other trainings will take place in selected locations or wherever significant interest is expressed.

However, it’s about more than that. “When Americans and Africans get together in teaching situations, we learn from each other. Both teams have strengths and weaknesses both teams have good ideas that the other can profit from. So, when we come together and share those things, it’s a ‘win-win’ situation.”

The cost for the training is $320 (USD), which includes all course materials, meals, lodging in an area home, and transportation from lodging to seminar each day.
