A Philippine pastor helps reach the unreached

Philippines (MNN) — He caught the vision and now he’s seeing results. A national pastor in the Philippines, trained by OC International, is taking on the challenge of reaching the unreached to heart.

OC International’s Bob Rasmussen tell the story of pastor Judah. “Judah heard some statistics that said that in his region there were 500 villages that did not yet have any kind of a Gospel preaching church. He was challenged to go back to his church and get them mobilized to do church planting. And, they caught this vision and over the next 12 years they’ve planted 70 churches.”

That’s the goal of OC International, training more people like Pastor Judah to do the work. Rasmussen says 2003 was a good year for that training. “In 2003, if you multiply pastor Judah by 200,000 times, that’s the number of leaders that we were able to impact last year.”

However, Rasmussen says much more needs to be done. “We’re so limited. This is just a real drop in the bucket. We’re so limited with personnel and resources that we could do so much more. So much more needs to be done. So, we really need the prayers and the partnership of more and more people,” he says.
