By March 4, 2005

Africa (MNN) — 200 million Christians around the world are expected to participate in a worldwide day of prayer for Africa. Transformation Africa is coordinating the event that will see Christians pray for 18 hours of continuous prayer. It’s the first ever Global Day of Repentance and Prayer.

Organizers say they’ll be making history on May 15th as they begin praying when the sun rises over the islands east of New Zealand and continuing until it sets over Hawaii and Alaska in the west. The prayer initiative actually begins May 6-15 for 10 days of fasting and prayer. On May 13th students are being encouraged to do a 30 second kneel down during school hour to pray for God’s blessing. That will be followed by a night of pray for the whole world by youth around the world. It culminates with the prayer event.

The goal is to pray for God to reveal himself and transform Africa. If you’d like information about Transformation Africa, go to http://www.transformationafrica.com.
