International (MNN) — According to statistics, Russia has fewer churches per capita than China. Because of that, a ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ, Canada is targeting the area with Operation Care Lift.

OCL’s Duane Zook. “We’re going to take a group of people there to visit orphanages, hospitals, prisons, to minister to needy families. We need people to come with us to not only help deliver the much needed physical aid, but also to help meet the spiritual needs of the children and the families.”

The trip is schedule for January 27th through February 7th. Zook describes the qualifications needed. “It answer those types of questions this year, can you smile, can you hug a child, do you want to be used by the Lord, do you have a willing heart and a desire to help children and adults in need. If you do, you’re qualified to be a part of the team.”

Containers are on the way to the region, says Zook, in an effort to share the Gospel. He says, “Campus Crusade for Christ definitely is committed to taking the Gospel to the uttermost parts of the earth. As we go into orphanages we have a little tool called the Gospel Bead Bracelet. And, we train our volunteers to use that to explain the Gospel.”
