Amazon Baptist Hospital meets physical, emotional and spiritual needs.

By June 14, 2006

Brazil (MNN) — Along the Amazon River in Brazil, missionaries with boats and airplanes are taking the gospel to Brazilians and Indians.

The Association of Baptists for World Evangelism has been working in that South American country for more than 60 years, and they’ve found that in this particular region, an effective method of outreach is through medical-surgical evangelism.

The Amazon Baptist Hospital operates as a crisis pregnancy center and also offers HIV testing, eye clinics, health evaluations, biblical counseling and educational programs. As they care for each patient physically, hospital personnel share the spiritually life-giving message of the Gospel.

A number of people have turned to Christ and Churches have been planted through the hospital’s outreach. Pray that God would continue impacting lives through ABWE’s ministry there.
