Americans encouraged to ‘Wash Out Hunger’ this month.

By June 22, 2004

USA (MNN)–It’s an experimental program this month for a real need in America.

Operation Blessing International is encouraging believers to take part in their first virtual car wash challenge. The end result of the challenge will help some of the 31 million hungry Americans who can’t afford to buy groceries.

Grab soap, a bucket and hose, and head for the driveway. After having washed everything in the driveway, donate the money that would have been spent at the car wash to OBI’s hunger relief program.

$25 is all it takes to help provide a family of four with a month’s worth of food. OBI is inviting groups of friends, youth groups and scout troops to hold car washes in June. All of the money raised will help hungry neighbors.

From there, millions of pounds of food goes onto Hunger Strike Force semi trucks for delivery to hungry American communities.

OBI demonstrates God’s love by alleviating human need and suffering.
